About Greg Shanaphy
Vice President of Investments with UBS Financial Services Inc., Greg Shanaphy
also functions as an Investments Wealth Advisor, Senior Portfolio Manager, and
Institutional Consultant with the New York-based branch known as the Poppo
Group. He primarily focuses on developing client wealth and financial planning
strategies through analysis and design. Additionally, he is the branch’s estate
planning and insurance coordinator and possesses a Portfolio Management Program.
Prior to finding employment at UBS, Greg Shanaphy spent three years as a Private
Wealth Manager with Merrill Lynch Global Private Client, a wealth management
firm. He also gained experience in financial and estate planning through a
position with AXA Advisors.
Before launching his career, Greg Shanaphy attended Montclair State
University, where he studied political science and economics. He also spent time
studying abroad in Tuscany, Italy. Shanaphy continued his education at Seton Hall University School of Law and earned a Juris Doctor. He possesses several FINRA licenses as well as professional life and health insurance licenses. Greg Shanaphy also belongs to the American Bar Association, and he has earned admittance to the New Jersey Bar and the United States District Court. Before becoming a financial advisor, he spent nearly a decade as a lawyer, with four years in the investment banking sector in Wall Street, three years in the District Attorney’s Office, and two years in private practice.
Greg Shanaphy has found a great deal of success in his present occupation. In addition to his career at UBS, he participates in a number of professional organizations and charities, including the Seton Hall University School of Law Reunion Committee, The Irish Business Organization of New York, and the Irish American Bar Association of New York. Greg Shanaphy supports numerous charities, such as the Vincent Falzo Foundation, which he founded to provide educational opportunities to individuals less fortunate.
He also contributes to White Box, a contemporary art collective, and Little Sisters of the Assumption Family Health Service, a nonprofit community center in East Harlem.
